Event:

"Galaxy Nine"

New Work by The Vangobot: An Artistic Collaboration of Man & Machine, and Member Artists of Gallery Nine.

Opening Reception: Gallery 9, Friday, August 6, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Watch The Vangobot in action!

In August, Gallery 9 will feature the work of The Vangobot, the unique brain child and creation of Doug Marx and Luke Kelly.  Vangobot implements a formalization of artistic technique using robotics to create real paintings from a full assortment of brushes, an onboard paint mixing system and 3D spatial awareness. Also on view will be new work by G9 member artists, inspired by science fiction, science fact and fantasy.

Special G9 Event: Q&A With The Vangobot: Friday, August 27, 2010, 7:00 P.M. – Purely technical skill from a brush does not make an artist. The ideas expressed, visually or conceptually, are products of those who create and use this incredible new technology. Meet the creators,  join the conversation!

Gallery Nine is located at 124 South 9th in the historic Mission Arts Building. Gallery hours are
Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, Noon to 5:00 p.m.

FREE Parking Behind G-9, East of the Gallery on Opening Friday Nights.

See Gallerynine.com for a listing of August dates Vangobot will be creating art.

vb3 configuration finalized!

Here you go. I changed the z so it’s 8th stepped I am going change the accel setting . I also changed the U it’s 1/8th stepped and is now on the inch is an inch bandwagon the 13.5" in the test_drive code is now 8.875" I am going to change its accel settings too so it’s snappier. You can really have a conversation over the while the machine is running there is instance where Adriane walks by and says something.

Tuned the machine everything seems right on. had a call mid afternoon from G9 postcards are in . I told them I’d run the press pack stuff down to them tomorrow. Heres what I through to gether I will put dims tittles artist info on the photos.
Tomorrow
Install water tanks
Deliver press stuff.

That’s about it… I am not coming in to pack Sunday. Judith said to be there around 10 Monday so I figured that’s what we can do Monday before 10. I will send another video didn’t have time to mess with it. Let me know if you want changes made to press packet stuff.

DEADLINE FOR SHOW MET…. at least the machine is working, now time to tear it down and install it on-site. We’ve never painted anything with it at this point.

During the month of August we completed several paintings with VB3. There was a lot of on the fly learning with the new machine. It was during this time we found the problems with the IC relay board…
